Norment to Supply Equipment for $8 Million in Projects
MONTGOMERY , Ala. — Norment Security Group Inc., a detention equipment contractor, was awarded $8 million in contracts for its detention systems.
Layton Construction of Sandy, Utah, awarded a $7.5 million contract to Norment for the company’s detention equipment and integrated security electronic control system at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution in Torrington . Norment will furnish and install hollow metal frames and doors, security mesh and detention furnishings, Airteq pneumatic swing locks and sliding devices. It will also install the MaxWall paneled wall system. DLR is the architect for the project.
Norment was also awarded a $500,000 contract by Y.G. Yates Construction Company of Jackson, Miss. The project includes furnishing and installing Norshield manufactured blast, ballistic and forced-entry doors and windows for the exterior of the new District Federal Courthouse in Plano , Texas .
The company has completed more than 600 projects at jails and prisons.
