Companies Join to Reduce Recidivism
ROSELAND , N.J. — Two companies that claim they are concerned with reducing recidivism rates joined forces to create the largest offender re-entry services company in the United States, according to company officials.
Community Education Centers Inc., a provider of offender re-entry services, acquired CiviGenics of Marlborough, Mass., a provider of in-prison treatment programs. The company will be headquartered in New Jersey and will oversee about 20,000 offenders at 97 facilities in 22 states.
The company provides services including nonresidential re-entry programs, treatment services and jail management services. It will have more than 3,500 employees and expected annual revenues of more than $200 million.
Other services offered under the acquisition include assessment centers, therapeutic communities, parole violator programs, work release centers, women’s programs, prerelease programs, drug court programs, GPS monitoring, and drug testing services.
