Washington and New Mexico Agencies Turn to Stinger Systems
Olympia, Wash. — Stinger Systems Inc., a Florida-based manufacturer of less-than-lethal weapons, restraint devices and crowd-control products, announced contract awards with departments of correction in New Mexico and Washington.
Stinger reached an agreement to supply the Washington DOC with the company’s newest version of the S-200 stun gun after field evaluations of the units conducted by staff returned positive performance results, officials say.
The DOC will phase in the electro-stun technology as a replacement solution for its existing prisoner restraint and crowd-control shield systems, which are also manufactured by Stinger, officials say.
In other news, New Mexico Department of Corrections awarded Stinger, which is headquartered in Tampa, Fla., a general services contract stipulating a fixed unit-price for the purchase of the company’s S-200 model stun gun.
Under the terms of the deal, all law enforcement agencies will be able to purchase the company’s latest electro-stun technology at a predetermined price point for a period of one year.
