CDCR Dedicates New Mule Creek State Prison Housing Facilities
IONE, Calif. — The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) recently dedicated two new housing facilities at Mule Creek State Prison, located in Ione in Amador County. In addition to increased bed space, the facilities also feature expanded areas for rehabilitative programming as well as medical and mental health care.




PHUKET, Thailand — After a long waiting period, Phuket Prison Chief Pichit Wanajit confirmed that Phuket Provincial Prison is set to break ground this month. The new prison will be able to hold more inmates and relieve some of the pressure that is on the current facility.
In recent years, the line between correctional facilities and mental health facilities has blurred. Jails and prisons are now some of the largest de facto mental health providers in the country, and many county jails in dense metro areas are seeing more inmates in need of mental health services.
BUCKEYE, Ariz. — After allowing media outlets to tour the state’s new $50 million prison in early November, the Arizona Department of Corrections has officially opened the new section of the Lewis Prison Complex in Buckeye.
