BI Awarded Several Supervision Contracts
BOULDER, Colo. — BI Incorporated, a provider of offender supervision, treatment and re-entry services for community correctional agencies, was awarded several contracts from correctional agencies for its GPS offender tracking system.
Agencies that have integrated BI’s GPS technology into their monitoring system include probation departments in Chester County , Pa. ; Rensselaer County , N.Y.; Madera and Merced Counties in California; and the New York Division of Parole.
The GPS system includes the ExacuTrack AT, an active monitoring system, and the ExacuTrack, a passive monitoring system. Both systems consist of a tamper-resistant transmitter, which is affixed to the offender’s ankle; a portable GPS tracking unit that the offender carries or wears; a base station that is installed at the offender’s residence; and a secure Web interface that stores all offender-related data.
BI’s system also uses Microsoft mapping software to create zones or boundaries that outline where the offender is allowed to go in a community.
