Heating & Cooling Software

Flomerics has released the Flovent V7, computational fluid dynamics software for simulating the heating and cooling of buildings. It allows users to specify combinations of design parameters, applying a 3D surface to the entire design space. Flovent features the company’s SmartPart for modeling the performance of computer room air conditioning, and the ability to import 2D files and transform them into 3D shapes.

To use the software, the user first defines the design goals, their costs and the ranges over which parameters may be varied. The software then creates and runs the required number of simulations to explore the design space and creates the most cost-effective plan. A featured optimization module generates a response surface showing the value of the design goals for all variables and combinations.
