Willie C. Bolton

Willie C. Bolton will retire as warden of the Athens-Clarke County Correctional Institute on Dec. 1. Bolton has been the director and warden of the Athens-Clarke County Department of Corrections for the past 19 years, and has been with the Athens-Clarke County Government for 40 years. He currently serves on both the Athens Regional Medical Center Hospital Authority and Georgia Public Safety Training Center Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Association of Chiefs of Police, the Georgia Prison Wardens Association, American Correctional Association, North American Association of Wardens and Superintendents and Peace Officers Association of Georgia. Bolton earned a bachelor’s degree from Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga., and a master’s degree from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta.
